Artist's Description
There's nothing like the magical combination of waterfalls and wildflowers especially when they're bathed in a gentle moonlight under Milky Way skies. Seeing all those elements come together on this night hike into the Indian Peaks was one of the highlights of the summer.
This image came from an exceptionally beautiful area on the uphill side of Lake Isabelle. The Saint Vrain River is really pretty with several cascades and a couple waterfalls and in mid-August, wildflowers can still put on a commanding show. They're especially thick in that area.
How I Got The Shot
There's a lot to be said for being in the right place at the right time. You'll notice that the foreground is all well illuminated all the way up the mountain to the Milky Way and I couldn't have done this without the help of some gentle moonlight.
