Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Celestial Patience At The Oxbow Bend
With awesome conditions and great students, it's been a lot of fun including some of them in images captured during our night photography workshops. Students tell us the experience can be magical and so I really enjoy showing how it looks from a photographer's perspective. This time I included one who went down to the shoreline of the Oxbow Bend to do their own thing for a little while and I was impressed that he stayed still in my frame for the whole 33 minute exposure!
This long-exposure image was captured from the Oxbow Bend, in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. This spot is very popular among the tourists in the daytime and as it turns out, it's a stunning location for night photography as well. We brought our students to this location in time to capture the Milky Way working its way across the sky behind Mount Moran.
