Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

In a place thats become so popular among photographers, it was really nice to have the barn all to ourselves. With our timing and position, the pointed roof from the John Moulton Barn's Hay Carrier looked like it was about to poke the Milky Way in the skies far above.
Pictures like this remind me that I'm already looking forward to the early season Milky Way. This image was captured at the John Moulton Barn on Mormon Row in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming during one of our outstanding night photography workshops - this one in June 2015. And for those who are interested, the roof of the barn is in-fact pointing directly at (or so it appears from the camera's perspective) the Sagittarius Star Cloud.
How I Got The Shot
An early morning spring-time view toward the southeast works well to show the rising Milky Way - especially so with the barn in the foreground. So while this perspective does work in May to June, I don't think it would work as well in August to...
